Book Cover

Our assignment was to remake a book cover of a book that has been published. I love this book, but I've always been bothered by the fact that the cover isn't a real photo. Since I didn't know anyone who looked quite like this girl, I decided to take a different approach and take it of just a hand holding a packet of carrot seeds. I thought it would be perfect because it fits with the excerpt on the back of the book. I love the golden, dream-like background. I'm sure most of you have never read the book so it's difficult to know whether it works or not, but what do you think?

Thanks to everyone who helped me think of ideas, and thanks to Heather for being my hand model!

The friends I visit every Sunday

I love these horses. Just today I realized I visit them every Sunday when I go to Pleasant Grove. They weren't being very photogenic today, but this one came over and visited with me for a few minutes. I love taking pictures of them. Aren't they beautiful?

A lot more morbid than I've ever done...hope I never have to do anything like this again!

Just missed the light

As I was driving from Provo to Pleasant Grove this afternoon, I passed by these horses and the sun was gorgeous. It was a pinkish color and it was low in the sky, and I almost crashed because it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I raced home to get my camera (I was less than a minute away from my parents' house--thank goodness), and then drove back to the spot, but the clouds had already hid the sun by the time I got back. I still thought it was beautiful, but I don't know if I'll ever see any landscape so perfect again. It was amazing to see. I guess the picture probably wouldn't have done it any justice though, so maybe it's a good thing that I can just remember how beautiful it was.
